Wishlist Wednesday [1]

Hosted by Pen to Paper
Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it's entirely up to you), that we can't wait to get off the wishlist and onto our wonderful shelves.

This Wishlist Wednesday is dedicated to Eragon by Christopher Paolini
I have been wanting to read this book for such a number of years now. I remember trying to get it when I was about 8 years old but that book is 503 pages so it overwhelmed me at the time. I am still wondering why I haven't read it yet, I guess since it's so large I have been putting it off but I am planning on reading it very soon, so look out for a review on it. I have seen the movie and sadly I was very disappointed but I am hoping that the book is much better. I am quite excited to get to this book though. I love dragons, they are my absolute favorite mythical creature. I am expecting a lot from this book so fingers crossed I love it.

Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins - Book Review

Title: Isla and the Happily Ever After
Author: Stephanie Perkins
Publication: August 14, 2014
Series: Anna and the French Kiss #3
Format: Ebook
My Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

Summary:

Love ignites in the City That Never Sleeps, but can it last?

Hopeless romantic Isla has had a crush on introspective cartoonist Josh since their first year at the School of America in Paris. And after a chance encounter in Manhattan over the summer, romance might be closer than Isla imagined. But as they begin their senior year back in France, Isla and Josh are forced to confront the challenges every young couple must face, including family drama, uncertainty about their college futures, and the very real possibility of being apart.

Featuring cameos from fan-favorites Anna, Étienne, Lola, and Cricket, this sweet and sexy story of true love—set against the stunning backdrops of New York City, Paris, and Barcelona—is a swoonworthy conclusion to Stephanie Perkins’s beloved series.

My Review:

“I smile up at him. "It's beautiful. But what comes next?"
"The best part." And he pulls me back into his arms. "The happily ever after.”

My rating for this book is 3 stars, at first I gave it 5 stars but that was because I had just finished reading the book and I was exaggerating with 5 stars. I was so ecstatic when I got this book from my library, the cover wasn't what I was expecting but it is still really nice. This one was sadly the least of my favorites from this series, Anna was the best, then it was Lola and now Isla. That would be the order I would have them in. I think my favorite part was near the ending but that isn't good because the part at the near end wasn't really focused on Isla, I was glad to see Anna and Lola and I loved seeing them all together. That was may favorite part but not because of Isla's role in that part but because of Anna and St. Clair but the ending was adorable nonetheless.

- Isla
I found Isla annoying at times, overreacting to things in the worst way and seeing her just falling over this guy is a little depressing. I did like her character though, she was a nice mc but it was a little hard to concentrate because she did whine at many times and now that I look back at the book I am realizing all the flaws it had. I guess I was expecting so much I overlooked the bad parts and only focused on the good parts because Stephanie Perkin's is a great writer. Isla has to be my least favorite out of the three between her, Anna and Lola. She had high expectations for so many things that weren't just going to happen.

- Josh
I have to admit that I loved Josh. I always love reading about artists but still, what did he expect when he gave her that book in the beginning of your ex? It was very predictable of what was going to happen after she read it but his shock was just too much. But all of his characteristics are just to die for.

Overall, I thought the ending was amazing though, that was the cutest thing ever but the story dragged and was at such a slow pace. It felt as though nothing really happened through the book everything going on a short period of time. This was just unrealistic. Falling in "love" with someone over just a month? That is very unbelievable and honestly at least there was such realistic things going on in Anna and Lola's story, but where did it go? Things happened in the weirdest way. I am only really keeping this at 3 stars because I do believe it was adorable and it was a Stephanie Perkin's book so I finished the book pretty fast. I didn't like how this series ended, I really wish this book was a little better.

The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa - Book Review

Title: The Iron Daughter
Author: Julie Kagawa
Publication: October 1, 2010
Series: The Iron Fey #2
Format: Ebook
My Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

Summary:

Half Summer faery princess, half human, Meghan has never fit in anywhere. Deserted by the Winter prince she thought loved her, she is prisoner to the Winter faery queen. As war looms between Summer and Winter, Meghan knows that the real danger comes from the Iron fey—ironbound faeries that only she and her absent prince have seen. But no one believes her.

Worse, Meghan's own fey powers have been cut off. She's stuck in Faery with only her wits for help. Trusting anyone would be foolish. Trusting a seeming traitor could be deadly. But even as she grows a backbone of iron, Meghan can't help but hear the whispers of longing in her all-too-human heart.

My Review:

I loved this book so much. I loved it so much more than the first one. I loved it, the ending was just amazing my god I am at a loss for words this was just simply amazing how else could I put it? This was so amazing, the characters, the plots, everything! I was on the edge of my seat throughout the book.

- Meghan
I love Meghan's character, she is such a phenomenal female lead and her growth is just outstanding. She is incredibly brave and so amazing and doing what she does. There is a lot to say about Meghan but the first that pops into my head is heroic. She puts her family first and even though the whole winter world despises her, she still wanted to save them. I thought that Meghan had grown so much from The Iron King to this one.

- Ash
Ah Ash. I love him so much. I can't get him out of my mind. I cried so much because of this jerk..I take that back I can't be mad at him because of the beginning and most of the middle, the ending recovered all that for me.

- Puck
I love Puck's humor. He is always making me grin in the stupidest way. There is so much to him that is just awesome but I still love Ash so much more. I think what I really like from Puck is his humor, he is gentle and very loving and guarded but he is sarcasticness is just too much where you just have to laugh.

- Grimmalkin
I love this cat. Even though he is really rude he is a really great companion and hilarious. I would love to have a cat as Grimmalkin, but more loving and less rude.

- Ironhorse
Aw, I loved this man...horse? He is incredibly brave and just so loyal. I cried for a few minutes because of this horse (man?).

Overall, the way this book ended just had me speechless, Ash had me speechless! I am so glad this is how it ended but what's going to come next in the series. I could not think of better characters for this addition to the series. Julie is such an amazing writer, I am glad I got onto this series and I will definitely be going to the third one as soon as possible.

The Transfer by Veronica Roth - Book Review

Title: The Transfer
Author: Veronica Roth
Publication: September 3, 2013
Series: Divergent #0.1
Format: Ebook
My Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

Summary:

Complete your Divergent library with the Four stories!

Fans of the Divergent series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth will be captivated by "Four: The Transfer," the first of four stories, each between fifty and seventy-five pages long, set in the world of Divergent and told from Tobias's perspective.

In "The Transfer," readers witness Tobias's aptitude test, Choosing Day, and the moment he is given the infamous nickname "Four."

My Review:

I loved that this was in Tobias's point of view. It was so sad to see how he lived before he went to dauntless and I love seeing how he got his name and the whole process of his beginning. I am so happy that there are more books in his point of view because I loved it.

- Tobias
I love Tobias, he is just incredible. It's so sad seeing him in a weak form, how frightened he was growing up. I am glad he has changed from that because it was just terrible reading those scenes, they made me tear up really bad.

- Marcus
Ugh. I do not like Marcus. He is so abusive and horrible. I don't understand why he likes seeing his son in pain and always "teaching him a lesson".

Overall, I loved the book and I am glad I gave this novella a try. I am excited to read the rest of them, they all look so good and I want to see Tobias's life before he met Tris.
